Rescue Mission for Children
We had Sharon Buckland from Parnel Club come and visit to talk about this wonderful project.  As a club it would be great if we can go along and support them by attending the dinner on Thursday 7th November.
Polio All Trains_ Tag YOU on Tag POLIO off Post Post
On  1st November club member Shefali jumped on board the trains in Auckland to help this fantastic cause.
A big thanks to Shefali for representing our club and making the difference to support the end of Polio.
Interplast Presentation
Shefali will be doing a presentation on Wednesday 13th November at our projects meeting.  Below is a bit of background to what she will be telling us on the night.
The Allied Health Training activity to be held in Kiribati during May 2020 (dates to be confirmed) will run alongside a surgical team visit who are travelling to Kiribati through the generous support of another donor.  This will be the second allied health training activity to Kiribati following an inaugural visit in May 2019.  The program will be delivered at the Tungaru Central Hospital in Tarawa, Kiribati.
During the program, volunteer physiotherapists/ occupational therapists will work alongside the local physiotherapy team to build their skills, knowledge and confidence around providing rehabilitation treatment to patients including those who have presented with burns injuries, lower and upper limb trauma and other surgical conditions related to reconstructive surgery.
The training will be a combination of presentations and workshops together with some peer-based learning where teams will work alongside local physiotherapists in their clinics treating patients.
The generous funding provided by our district will cover flights, accommodation, ground transport, insurances, training equipment and supplies, together with program coordination, monitoring and evaluation costs.
Rotaract Cultural Night - Save the Date
